An Ethnobotanical Survey of Medicinal Plants Used for Primary Health Care from Patan Sher Khan and Surrounding Areas of District Sudhnoti, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan

Life on mountains is difficult and people depend medicinal plants for primary health care. Many of mountain areas Azad Kashmir are unexplored from taxonomic ethnobotanical point view. This study was conducted to document the indigenous knowledge village Patan Sher Khan allied District Sudhnuti Pakistan. Field surveys were during March 2020 2021 collection following standard methods. A total 120 key informants interviewed by using semi-structured questioners. The data analyzed through indices i.e., Relative frequency citation (RFC), Use value (UV), Informant consensus factor (ICF) Fidelity level (FL). 37 plant species belonging 32 genera 25 families recorded study. Dominant ethnomedicinal Fabaceae with 4 followed Moraceae Rosaceae 3 each. Leaves most frequently used parts (36 %) decoction preferred preparation (19 use reports). Highest relative Ficus palmata (0.15) Melia azedarchta (0.14) highest found Dodonaea viscosa (0.58). valuable area carica 8 reports 48 citations, Bauhinia variegata 7 45 citations. maximum FL Berberis lyceum (100 Plantago lanceolate, (100%). Based documented reported ailments grouped into 9 categories, ICF values ranges between 0. 33 (sexual) 0.90 (teeth urinary). Medicinal still alive large papulation healthcare. But declining especially among younger people. Hence, there an urgent need such precious continuous studies.
